The IVth CONFERENCE ON INVESTMENT AND BUSINESS IN ANDORRA will be held on 24th May in Madrid to debate that country’s opportunities as a recipient of investment and as a host for business activity. This private initiative is being promoted by the Andorran consultancy S&R Business Strategies and by the Spanish company MB Comunicación, and has the sponsorship of Crèdit Andorrà, the flagship financial group of Andorra – present in Spain through Banco Alcalá –  and of other important companies.

The conference will take place at the Westin Palace Hotel, and will be attended by the Andorran Government’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Competitiveness and Innovation, Mr. Gilbert Saboya, the Spanish Government’s Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, Mrs. Carmen Vela, and the Chairperson of Hispasat, Mrs. Elena Pisonero, among other participants.

The 2018 event goes a step further and presents the theme “Innovation, Technology in Andorra”, which has aroused the interest and awareness of all the parties involved, the more so because the country is currently developing, at full speed, projects aimed at encouraging innovation, and wishes to be regarded as a “Living Lab”. The conference, which coincides with the week of the 2018 World Digital Business Congress, will have the benefit of strong business and institutional participation, and will be aimed at Spanish companies and organisations that are interested in learning more about the great opportunities offered by Andorra as an investment destination.

The programme for the day consists of a round of interventions and presentations orientated towards explaining the business and investment possibilities and alternatives which Andorra offers to Spanish companies committed to innovation and technology. Discussion will centre on the current business climate, the fiscal context, and the financial tools available to companies. The Andorran Government’s initiatives in this regard will also be explained, including projects such as “ACTUA”, as well as various success stories of private companies already established in the country. There will then be a lunch to facilitate networking and meetings among those present.

As well as being supported by the organisations already mentioned, the event will have the institutional support of the Government of Andorra, the Andorran Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, the CEA (Confederació empresarial andorrana) and Andorra Turisme.

We should not fail to mention the important personalities who have participated in previous conferences: Mrs. Ana Pastor, in her former position as Minister of Development, Mr. Jaime García-Legaz, as Secretary of State for Trade at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Competitiveness, and Mr. Jorge Toledo, Secretary of State for the EU, representing the Spanish Government.
