Andorra’s first virtual gaming room opens in Caldea courtesy of Zero Latency

Andorra’s thermal spa has entered into an agreement with the world’s most advanced VR company to create a virtual reality gaming circuit on Inúu’s ground floor

Escaldes, 6 March 2019 – Caldea, Andorra’s thermal spa, has entered into an agreement with the Zero Latency company to create a VR circuit in the Inúu facilities. With this new entertainment activity, Caldea will be able to offer packages that combine the thermal water bathing areas with this new virtual reality experience – currently the most immersive in existence.

This innovative circuit will open in July in a 350 m2 space on the ground floor of Inúu, Caldea’s adults only spa. Zero Latency provides a simultaneous multiplayer VR experience. The action unfolds in a real play area measuring 300 m2 where up to eight players can move freely and see one another. All this is thanks to special equipment and sensors which are strategically placed around the play area. In addition, the imitation weapons used in the game, known as Blackbird, have been manufactured using 3D printing.

In just a few weeks, Zero Latency will start refurbishing the play space and installing the required climate control equipment and other atmospheric elements. The installation works will continue until mid-July, when the testing phase begins.

With the creation of this VR circuit, Caldea is further establishing itself as a recreational centre with one of Europe’s top spas and an array of leisure activities. Andorra’s thermal spa constantly pursues new services for its visitors with the goal of enriching their experience through well-being, escapism and fun in the building’s various themed spaces and multifunctional areas.
