The best slopes in Andorra for skiing with children

The ski season has begun! You don’t have to wait any longer to enjoy the Andorran snow once again. I’m sure you want your kids to have just as much fun as you do while you practise your favourite sport together.

Both the Vallnord and Grandvalira ski resorts have the best slopes for introducing little ones to the world of skiing, allowing you to share your passion for winter’s white gold with them. Do you want to hear about the best ways for children to get started?

Vallnord ski resort

Vallnord is located in the northwest of the country and was recognised by the 2016 World Ski Awards as the best ski resort in Andorra.

In the Pal sector, children can head to the beginners’ area to start learning and improving their technique little by little. This area is open every Saturday and Sunday in December, every Saturday during the months of January, February and March, and on weekends in April.

Additionally, in both Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalís, children aged 4 to 8 can have their first experience of the world of skiing in one of the resort’s various snow gardens. There, they will discover the sport through games and activities with qualified specialist instructors.

And there’s more! Children will also get the chance to meet Pocoyo and all his friends in the Pal snow garden.

And to help your children take their first steps into this world in the best possible way, the Vallnord ski schools have a fantastic team of multilingual instructors who have either qualified in Andorra or hold a recognised qualification.

Grandvalira ski resort

The largest ski resort in the Pyrenees has over 200 km of slopes and several circuits for children, a perfect option for beginners:

  • Mon(t) Magic: this area, located in Canillo, is inspired by Andorran legends so both parents and children can enjoy a magical experience. It is also home to the longest themed children’s slope in southern Europe.
  • Imaginarium: located in the Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa sectors, the Imaginarium programme includes ski lessons and games that are played in the snow with funny characters like KinoNico. Your children will learn to associate “fun” with “snow” thanks to these activities that take place throughout the day, helping them to grow into true fans of winter sports.
  • The Bababoom Circus: designed by the heads of the Grandvalira ski school, this fun route is full of circus-themed surprises that help small children to improve their technique. On this slope, children will avoid obstacles and complete tests like the best circus acrobats.

And after a day in the snow, let your little ones experience new sensations at LIKIDS, the world’s first thermal spa for children. This space in CALDEA will allow them to discover the world of wellbeing and thermal water while you enjoy the facilities of Thermoludic.
