Caldea closes 2017 with 14,000 more customers

In 2017, the spa welcomed nearly 401,000 visitors, an increase of 3% compared to 2016

Escaldes-Engordany, 8 January 2018 – Caldea, Andorra’s thermal spa, registered a total of 400,965 visitors in 2017. This represents an increase of 3% in the total number of visitors and also an improvement in revenue when compared to the previous year.

The attendance data extracted by Caldea has remained positive throughout the year, confirming the months of February, April and December, and also spring, as the key periods in terms of the number of visitors, reaching 246,057 in total. However, August remains the peak month for the company, both in terms of attendance and revenue. In fact, this year Caldea received 53,597 visitors during August, an 8% increase over the previous August.

We would also like to highlight the number of registered visitors during the month of April. In April of 2016 the centre welcomed 18,348 visitors, in 2017 the number grew by 97.65% to reach 36,265 customers. This is because Easter fell in April in 2017, while in 2018 it will once again fall in March, with a shorter winter than the previous year.

Likids, the spa exclusively for children aged 3 to 8 years old, has more than doubled its attendance, going from 4,303 young thermalists in 2016 to 11,549 in 2017. This initiation to thermalism for little ones has clearly become a consolidated part of Caldea’s offer.

Thanks to the excellent results over the course of 2017, Caldea ended the year with a positive net result. Management considers the results yielded by the consistency of the commercial and marketing strategies to be very positive
