If you like Christmas as much as we do, then you must be a fan of the romantic and rustic atmosphere that can be experienced in the traditional Christmas markets throughout Europe’s major cities. And if you\u2019re planning to come to Andorra during December, we can tell you which markets you should visit to treat yourself at one of the craft stalls or just to wander around while you soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a delicious hot chocolate to fight off the cold.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The Christmas Village in Andorra la Vella (el poblet de Nadal)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

To get you in the Christmas spirit, the country’s capital will be offering a dream trip through Andorra la Vella for the third year in a row. Beginning on the 1st of December, the Avinguda de Meritxell (the main artery of the city) will be filled with games, performances and shows designed for adults and children alike, providing every visitor with an unparalleled Christmas experience. The magic tunnel of light and sound in the Pla\u00e7a de la Rotonda promises to be one of the most spectacular attractions for this year. And let\u2019s not forget the light labyrinth in the Pla\u00e7a de Guillem\u00f3 (also known as the Pla\u00e7a de Les Arcades), the Magical Post Office that lets the little ones post their letters to Santa Claus, and the endearing Christmas market in the Pla\u00e7a del Poble where you can find a great selection of high quality craft products on the traditional stalls.

Skating in the Christmas market in La Massana<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

From the 30th of November until the 2nd of December and the 6th until the 9th of December, the Pla\u00e7a de les Fontetes in La Massana will be hosting its annual Christmas market (to coincide with the December long weekend).
\nThe setting is a cosy space with wooden huts arranged around a synthetic ice rink, so the little ones can skate to their heart\u2019s content while the adults enjoy the entertainment, gastronomic, cultural and craft offerings at the different stalls.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The Advent calendar in Encamp<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

As the big day approaches, the calendar in the Pla\u00e7a del Consell in Encamp will open one of its windows every evening at 6 to offer sweets to passers-by. In addition, from 6:30 p.m. onwards on the 1st of December, cake and hot chocolate will be given out to celebrate the first day of Advent.
\nYou\u2019ll have to wait a little longer for Encamp’s Christmas market to open. But starting on Saturday the 8th of December, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., craftspeople will be selling traditional products from the stalls in the Pla\u00e7a Sant Miquel in Encamp. Visitors will be able to peruse the wares while they enjoy the various activities and events that will be there to liven up the Christmas market.<\/p>\n

Playmobil Fair in Sant Juli\u00e0 de L\u00f2ria<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

In Sant Juli\u00e0 de L\u00f2ria the Santa Ll\u00facia fair is traditionally celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of December, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., in the Pla\u00e7a de la Germandat and the Lauredi\u00e0 Cultural Centre. In addition to the stalls selling traditional wares, there will also be activities for all ages, such as a gastronomic area with oyster tasting and other products, craft workshops, film screenings, DJ sets and traditional storytelling\u2026
\nNew for this year, the Playmobil Fair will be held under the marquee in the Prat Nou car park from the 30th of November until the 2nd of December between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. (free admission). It\u2019s the perfect opportunity to feel like a child again with your kids.
