The Carmen Thyssen Museum in Andorra is embarking on a new stage with the exhibition \u00abFEMINA FEMINAE. Muses and the Collector. From Piazzetta to Delaunay\u00bb, which can be viewed until the middle of September next year. A journey through almost three centuries of art history via representations of the female figure in 28 pieces (two of which are sculptures).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Women, a source of artistic inspiration<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Over the centuries, many artists have drawn the inspiration for their pieces from their muses. In many cases, these muses stirred an irresistible desire in the artists to represent them on canvas (or through other artistic media), as was the case with the painter Robert Delaunay and his work La Gran Portuguesa.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

A journey with a common denominator<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

When visiting the exhibition, art lovers will be able to view the female figure represented in a variety of scenarios: in the midst of nature, as we can see in the piece Reclining Nude Shepherdess by Berthe Morisot; or in the city, like The Couturier in les Champs Elys\u00e9es Fields by Jean B\u00e9raud; or in the park in \u201cThe Battery\u201d by Reginald Marsh. At the centre of all of them is a woman, who, as an independent being, acquires great importance.

The exhibition does not forget to highlight Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza, a female collector who has been building a prestigious art collection that demonstrates her work as both an art disseminator and curator.<\/span><\/p>\n
